Arcadia University
Dr. Morra has been teaching economics at Arcadia since 1981. His undergraduate degree and doctorate are both in economics; areas of specialization are natural resource economics, econometrics and industrial organizations. Beginning in 1997, he joined forces with Dr. Gail Hearn, first as a faculty member and later as co-director of Bioko Biodiversity Protection Program. Under a grant from Arcadia in 2001-2002, they began the study abroad program, partnering with UNGE, the National University of Equatorial Guinea in the capital city of Malabo. After ten years, he stepped away from the administrative duties of BBPP, but continues to focus on research and issues of conservation and sustainability. His interests focus on the economic factors influencing the unsustainable bushmeat hunting of animals, especially critically endangered monkeys, in a fast growing economy fueled by the discovery of offshore oil.
